Today’s tip: QUIT THE DRAMA, YOUR DRAMA!
Oops, did I say your drama? I am sorry (not really…) you certainly are not the drama queen/king! Of course, that title belongs to your boss, your colleague, your supervisee, your client, or your partner, not you. However, in the odd case that you could eventually consider that perhaps once upon a time you played a minute part in a workplace drama, this tip and the video below might be of your interest. If that is not the case, could you kindly and tactfully share it with the person you think may need it most? By the way, if the person you are thinking is not the one reflecting in the mirror, please give me a call, I need your wisdom PRONTO! As we return to our duty stations and prepare to come back to the office it is important to review our personal, team, and office routines and how they made our lives better… or not. The crocodile in you (remember the reptilian brain?) might quickly send a ‘feeling’ of despair, anger, frustration, desperation, hopelessness, or any other negative association linked to a specific person, situation, team, place, task, or project. It is up to you to decide if you are going to dwell on the sour sweetness of your own self-pity or march onto the high road -head high- of a new routine defined by the new YOU emerging from the COVID-19 lockdown. Perhaps the five steps developed by Anastasi Penright (below) might be of assistance establishing your new routine:
- REWIND AND REFLECT: What did I do?
- COME BACK TO REALITY: It needs to stop.
- VENT AND RELEASE: We need to stop.
- LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE: We need to talk.
- RECOGNIZE AND PROTECT: We need to take a walk

Take care and stay safe. Enjoy your day and the many wonders it brings along!
